PWK Amplifier Final

Paul W Klipsch in 1945 designed a push pull 6A5G triode amplifier with built in crossover for his first prototype Klipschorn which featured a Western Electric 555 on a prototype HF horn and a Jensen A12PM in his new bass horn. We built this from scratch as the artifact was not safe enough to restore. Special thanks to Dave Slagle of Intact Audio for working out the specifics of PWK’s electronic crossover and for donating parts. Special thanks also to Chris Hornbeck for all the the help trouble shooting and design tweaking. This thing is massive for just one channel. It is a 5 watt amplifier and it goes to 11 40 years before Spinaltap.
